Our unique program offers mare owners and prospective buyers many benefits. You will not find a breeder and trainer who has more thoroughly tested a stallion's right to breed than Jason. We’ve owned our stallions since they were 2 years old or younger and have done all their training and showing. Not only did they have to be top-notch physical specimens with excellent papers, but they also had to have talent, ability, superior intelligence, trainability, and the heart to show successfully in multiple events.
After proving themselves to be excellent horses, they had to prove they sired better than themselves with our personal mares before we finally felt confident in offering them to the public. This level of vetting is just one of many benefits we now offer you as a potential mare owner.
In addition to their show pen success, they also work for a living on our cattle ranch and in the branding pen.
Both Cats Royal Boon & our recently sold stallion - Bob Hes Quick - have progeny from coast to coast showing successfully in Reined Cow Horse, Versatility Ranch Horse, Stock Horse, Team Roping, and many other events. Spook N Boon’s 1st foal crop was born in Spring 2024 and sure looks the part.

2024 was our first year standing these stallions to the public, but we have been AQHA breeders since 1983, and Jason is a well-respected horse trainer with over 35 years in the performance horse industry.
Before 2024, our stallions were only bred to our band of about 12 personal mares. So, foal crops have always been small. We are also the only riders to show these stallions. We are a small, but well-tested, tried, and true operation of two people out on the plains of western Kansas, raising horses, training them ourselves, showing them ourselves, and selling the horses we’ve raised in various stages of their training lives. There are no wealthy business partners or financial backers. It’s just us, running this horse program and family cattle ranch full-time.

We don’t just breed horses, we build dreams….
As a 42-year breeding program, we aren’t new to what makes a truly enjoyable performance horse. They need to have certain qualities and attributes, starting with trainable minds and high-level talent. Correct conformation, excellent bone and feet, pretty reining maneuvers, and a strong drive to work cattle are all important. This was a baseline we established for ourselves as breeders, and we work diligently each year to improve upon it.
We have an interesting mix of broodmares in our personal herd. Daughters of Lenas Wright On, Im Countin Checks, Cats Royal Boon, among others that are retired show horses with NRCHA/AQHA earnings; others were born and raised here, with bloodlines tracing back to Doc O’ Lena, Ranch Colonel, Sky High Leo, and Flying X Six.
We carefully match each mare to one of our 3 stallions with the goal of each resulting foal to be better than their parents. It sure has made some really great horses as you can see.
Everything we breed is AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge eligible, born, raised, and trained in our program. We take great pride in selling great horses to great people!
