Taco is a big moving, kind, talented, sensitive gelding that we bought back from a former client in March 2024. He has been in full training and shown a handful of times since. He is currently in his 2-rein year.

We are carefully looking for his new partner. Taco is an incredible horse that we care deeply for, so we are not in a hurry to sell unless the right person comes along.

Taco is loaded with try and talent. Huge stops, fluid movement, awesome spins, absolutely no quit with impeccable manners - easy to haul, shoe, bathe, saddle, catch etc. No vices, UTD on everything. Vaccinations & dental done in March.

He will do best under a light-handed, good-seated rider who does not “pick” on horses. His moves on a cow are smooth and easy to sit, but he is catty and quick, not scary (he is so much fun!). However, this is not a novice or beginner’s horse; this is a horse for an Open or accomplished/confident NP to show and enjoy. He will make the right rider look like the BEST rider! Not suited for VRH. Prefers straight RCH - loves all three events!!

His dam (whom we lost right before repurchasing him) was a very special mare (x Bandera Boonsmal) who we both showed successfully. A lot of her talent and mind were passed to this very cool 14.1H gelding.

Taco’s sire is our red roan stallion, Bob Hes Quick (x Bet Hesa Cat).

Taco has also spent a considerable amount of time out on the ranch and dragging lots of calves (more than one at a time - see below) at this year’s branding.

Jason would be happy to continue his bridle horse training for his new folks at a discounted training rate.
